Know Who He is…

He is your loving Abba Father. 

Your Dad in Heaven who only seeks your good.

He is your loving shepherd

Psalm 23:1–6 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

4   though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

His provision comes not by our works

Religion teaches us we have work for everything… in the Kingdom as in the Garden before the fall of man everything was provided for Adam and Eve had to was obey the Lord and tend the garden.

God Himself gave the increase and provided everything.

Genesis 3:17–19 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life.

18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field.

19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

Not to sweat because the curse brought the sweat…

We have been redeemed from that curse on the ground and bread… especially the men and women who are the providers in the home.

Luke 22:44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Galatians 3:13–14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),

14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Provision is in obedience

Jesus came to break the curse and He demonstrated that He provides when we obey and trust in Him.

He calls disciples out of their livelihood Peter and James had to stop their business in order to obey Jesus.

Then He breaks this curse with Matt 6 and later tells them they go and take no wallet with them?

He tests their faith to demonstrate that in obedience that He provides when obey and trust in Him.

Matthew 10:5–11 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7  And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

9 Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts,

10 nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.

11 “Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out.

Mark 6:7–10 And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.

8 He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts—

9  but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics.

10  Also He said to them, “In whatever place you enter a house, stay there till you depart from that place.

Matthew 16:5–10 Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.

6  Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”

7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have taken no bread.”

8  But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?

 9  Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up?

10  Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?

Not being able to provide happens because we deny the faith

1 Timothy 5:8  But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

When we do not have faith, we shut the gates of provision and the Lord’s provision stands outside our homes.
